What
Claude Code can now send Claude an urgent system reminder when it has gone quiet for a set length of time in a Projects session. The reminder is controlled by a configuration with three parts:
seconds: how long the silence lasts before the reminder, from 1 to 86400 (one day)
visible_tools: which tools are taken into account
text: what the reminder says
This configuration is sent remotely rather than set on your computer. Two related changes: when an interrupted turn resumes, the reminder now carries the current time, and Claude Code keeps track of when the oldest tool activity happened and whether a reminder was already sent.
Why
This changes how Claude behaves during long stretches of a Projects session where it is not using tools, nudging it to speak up rather than stay silent.
