What
Claude Code can now give Claude a project's documentation before Claude writes its first reply in a chat. The docs are presented as if a tool call had already been made and answered. A tool call is a request Claude makes to read a file, run a command and so on, together with the result that comes back.
Alongside these prepared reads, Claude Code adds a note for Claude. The note says:
Claude did not make these calls itself.
The docs were read before its first reply in this chat.
Each doc is referred to by an internal id rather than by a file name.
Why
Claude starts the conversation already holding the project's docs, without spending its first turn reading them.
