Unclear It is not clear what decides whether the compact layout is used, for example terminal height or a remote switch.
What
Before Claude runs a shell command, Claude Code asks your permission. That prompt now has a compact layout used when the command fits. In it:
- the title reads "Run command", with where it runs (inside the sandbox, a restricted area for running commands, or on your machine directly) shown next to the title
- a hint shows how to amend the command
- the "Do you want to proceed?" line is left out
- a pointer to
/permissionsis shown, the command for managing your allow and deny rules
When the command does not fit, the prompt keeps the old "Bash command" title. The "see more" hint for hidden lines is now shown separately.
Why
Permission prompts for shell commands take less room and are quicker to read when the command is short.
