What
Some computers use autofs, a system feature that automatically connects network folders the moment you look inside them. A common setup mounts /net, where each entry reaches another computer on the network.
Claude Code now checks for this setup in more ways. It reads:
/proc/self/mountinfo to find an autofs mount at /net
/etc/auto_master to find a /net -hosts entry and list automounted folders
/etc/resolv.conf to list the network search domains
Why
On a machine where /net is automounted, simply looking inside it can make the computer try to reach other machines. Knowing about it could stop Claude Code from hanging there.
