What

A skill is a set of written instructions Claude follows for a particular job. The skill for publishing artifacts gives Claude an example name for a tool from a connector (a connected outside service such as Slack). Previously that example was always claude_ai_Slack_beta, and when no connector was connected the instructions said to look for tools prefixed mcp__claude_ai_*.

When an internal switch is on, the instructions change:

  • The example connector name becomes slack_example_com.
  • The hint for when nothing is connected now says that a connector's tools appear in the tool list as mcp__<connector>__<tool>.

When the switch is off, the old wording stays.

Why

With the switch on, Claude is pointed at the general naming pattern for connector tools rather than at the mcp__claude_ai_ prefix.
