What
Before running a Bash command, Claude Code reads it to work out what it does. Inside a command substitution, written $(...), it has to skip over quoted text, including the $'...' form. Separate copies of that skipping logic have been replaced by one shared routine.
Why
How Claude Code reads a command feeds into its permission checks, so unusual quoting inside $(...) is the place where any difference would show up.
