What

When Claude Code copies certain session files, it also tries to copy the file's permissions (who may read or change it). Some disks and network drives do not allow permissions to be changed. For certain of these errors Claude Code now ignores the failure and finishes the copy. Other errors still stop it. If the copy has to be undone, Claude Code restores the file's original details.

Why

Copies on filesystems that reject permission changes are less likely to fail.
