What

A hook is a command a plugin asks Claude Code to run at certain moments. When one fails, Claude Code used to always show a warning and report the failing plugin. It now runs an extra step first and stops there unless one condition is met, so the warning and the report no longer appear every time.

Why

This may change when you hear about a plugin hook that failed.
