What
Some Claude Code features use a live connection that the server keeps open and pushes updates through. After each failed reconnect, Claude Code waits a little longer before trying again. It used to reset that waiting time every time the connection opened. It now does so only if the type of connection asks for it, which is the default.
Why
For some kinds of connection, retry delays now carry over after a reconnect.
