What

A background task is work that runs while you keep using Claude Code. One piece of handling used to apply only to tasks you started yourself. It now applies to any task with a known source, and passes on where the task came from and its output file.

Why

This may mean that stopping a task you did not start is now reported, as stopping your own already was.
