What
In auto mode, Claude Code uses a classifier (an automatic reviewer) to decide whether an action can go ahead without asking you. Sometimes the reviewer expects a call not to need review, but it does. This case, called server_call_skipped, is now handled on its own:
- A new denial message explains that the reviewer expected this call not to need a review but it needed one, and tells Claude to reissue the action once and then give up.
- The permission flow now runs a separate step for the tool involved when this happens.
- The permission check also takes a new
fastPathEditargument when deciding whether to allow something automatically. - When Claude Code runs without anyone to answer prompts, the no-prompt path now passes along the whole result instead of only its message.
Why
Before, Claude got the generic 'unavailable' text in this situation. Now it gets a specific instruction, so it should retry once instead of stalling or retrying repeatedly.
