CLAUDE_CODE_ADOPT_UNDERIVABLE_PARKED_PERMISSION is no longer read, so setting it does nothing. The special handling it switched on for permission requests left waiting when a turn was interrupted, called parked permissions, is gone.
What happens to a parked permission now:
A request that times out is retired with a general message, as before.
A request that is denied is no longer retired.
Only a request that was settled when Claude Code started up marks its action as handled.
This release also reads CLAUDE_CODE_WITTY_DEWDROP, a variable tied to a check that always passes on the Pro plan.
Why
If you set CLAUDE_CODE_ADOPT_UNDERIVABLE_PARKED_PERMISSION to change how resumed or remote sessions handle waiting permission requests, it no longer has any effect.
