What
headersHelper is a command that supplies extra headers for Claude Code's requests. Headers are small labels sent along with each request. When a plugin provides this command, Claude Code now passes the plugin's identity along. It records the command's environment both with and without the plugin's variables. Before, the environment was built without knowing which plugin it was for.
Why
This is a small internal change to how header commands from plugins are set up.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Confirmed sinceAnthropic's documentation has since written up headersHelper, on Connect Claude Code to tools via MCP.* **A server whose [configuration](#mcp-installation-scopes) you can edit**: set it in [`headers`](#example-with-variable-expansion) or return it from a [`headersHelper`](#use-dynamic-headers-for-custom-authentication)mcpsee the edit
