What

Usage limits cap how much you can use Claude Code in a period. The limit records Claude Code reads now carry more about resets, meaning credit that restores some of that usage:

  • type: one of 'session', 'weekly' or 'full'.
  • gives_back_weekly (givesBackWeekly): a limit that gives back weekly usage is now treated as clearing the seven_day limit. Before, only the existing clears list was checked.
  • unavailable_reason: why a reset can't be used.
  • New messages cover a reset that was already used, one that is no longer on offer, and the case where there is "no Fable usage this week to give back".

Why

Claude Code can show different messages for session, weekly and full resets, explain why one is unavailable, and count weekly relief correctly.
