What
When you hit a usage limit, Claude Code can offer to reset it. It used to find a single offer. It now works with a list, where each offer has:
a kind
how many resets of that kind are left
how many resets are left in total
Claude Code also saves this status in its global config file, the settings file in your home folder. The saved status is trusted for 3 days and is only used for claude.ai accounts signed in to the command-line tool.
Why
With the status saved, Claude Code can tell you a reset is available without first asking the server.
