What
Plan mode and auto mode are permission modes, settings that decide whether Claude plans before acting or acts without asking each time. Claude Code now re-evaluates this setting, through settlePlanAutoMode, in two more situations:
When a session's working directory is changed (set_cwd), the setting is settled again for the new directory. If that fails, Claude Code logs 'settling the plan setting for the new directory failed (continuing)' and carries on.
After a session is relocated (claim_relocated), the setting is settled again against the session's current tool permissions.
Separately, the login and startup paths now reuse an existing organisation check (orgValidation) when one is available, and only validate your credentials again when it is not.
Why
The permission mode now follows the directory or place a session has actually moved to, rather than staying as it was set before the move. Login also avoids repeating an organisation check it has already done.
