What
A subagent is a helper that Claude Code starts to handle part of a task. When you resume one and its saved settings are missing, Claude Code now stops with a message saying the session no longer has that agent's saved settings.
Before, this applied only in diskless sessions (sessions that keep no files on disk). It now also applies in seeded sessions.
Why
A resumed subagent that has lost its settings stops and explains why, instead of running as the wrong kind of agent.
