What

A tool is an action Claude Code takes for you, such as running a command or reading a file. When a tool produces very large output, Claude Code saves a copy in a folder for the session. If that copy fails, Claude Code now handles it in one of two ways:

  • Disk full or storage quota used up: the file is deleted.
  • Any other error: the file is kept.
Why

Large output files are not left behind on a disk that has already run out of space.
