What
When you sign in, Claude Code now remembers the login the new one replaced. If the new sign-in is then refused because it does not belong to the organization Claude Code is set to require, Claude Code tries to restore your previous login. The error message now says whether that restore succeeded.
Before, a refused sign-in of this kind cleared the stored login without bringing the old one back.
Why
A sign-in that gets refused no longer quietly leaves you without the login you were already using.
