What
Claude Code uses file patterns, such as *.js or src/**, to match paths. The matcher has been rewritten. It now breaks a pattern into parts such as a single star, a double star and a set of characters. Before, it built a regular expression and fell back to an exact text match if that failed.
Why
Patterns in permission rules and sandbox settings may match differently in unusual cases. Rules with odd patterns are worth checking.
