What

Some commands that Claude Code runs start programs that keep running after the command itself has finished. Claude Code keeps track of these. Before, it only recorded them, and only when a switch was on. It now also has a counting mode that counts how many are still running, and it can check whether a given turn (one round of you asking and Claude answering) or agent is being followed.

Why

In practice this gives Claude Code a way to know how many leftover programs are still running.
