Unclear Whether the offer to resume these agents is shown to the user is not stated.
When Claude Code runs on a remote worker (a machine that runs your session somewhere other than your own computer, with no interactive screen) and that worker restarts, any background agents (helper copies of Claude working on part of a task) that were still running get cut off. Claude Code can now offer those cut-off agents for resuming. Before, it only reported them.
On restart, Claude Code now also:
- keeps a list of the cut-off agents that can be resumed in the worker's saved state
- restores the point that memory extraction (Claude Code saving things worth remembering from the session) had reached
- sends a notification that covers every cut-off agent, both those you were already told about and those you were not
This is tied to the CLAUDE_CODE_RESUME_INTERRUPTED_TURN environment variable.
Work that was in progress when a remote worker went down has a better chance of being picked up again instead of lost.
