What
A terminal can be attached to a session that runs somewhere else, such as a remote or cloud session. Several messages for this situation are new or changed.
/resumenow refuses when the terminal is attached to a remote session. It says it can't open this computer's conversations from there, and tells you to run/exit, thenclaude --resumein a shell. Before, it went straight to the session picker.- A failed resume that throws a particular kind of error now shows that error's message in the conversation instead of being logged as a failure.
- A new hint tells you to run
/exit, thenclaude --cloud <session-id>to open another cloud session, and says session IDs are listed at claude.ai/code. - A message now says a command was not run because the folder the server was started in is gone, and that retrying will not help.
- A
desktop_rc_refusalentry was added to the information sent with requests.
Why
In a terminal attached to a remote or cloud session, you now get a clear explanation and the exact next step instead of a picker that cannot help or an error that invites pointless retries.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
