What
The resume picker is the list you choose a past session from to continue it. When loading the chosen session fails with one particular kind of error, Claude Code now stops the hooks that would run at session start and shows an error message in the picker. Hooks are your own commands that Claude Code runs at set moments, such as when a session starts.
Before, any failure here sent Claude Code down its general exit path.
Why
A resume that is refused now explains itself instead of dropping you out of Claude Code.
