Unclear What the extra condition that shelves device hooks checks is not stated.
Hooks are your own commands that Claude Code runs at set points. Device hooks register only after a check on your account. Before, that check passed whenever both account flags were on. Now, when both are on, Claude Code checks one more condition, and if it holds, registration stops and is recorded as shelved.
When the account flags are not served, Claude Code still falls back to a single flag, tengu_violin_amati, which is off unless the server turns it on. In readings taken before this release, the server returned it on both for this site's account and for an anonymous one, a change from the reading before that.
Device hooks can now be switched off from the server even when both account flags are on.
tengu_violin_amati Off by default, switched on for this accountThe shipped code defaults this off, and the flag server returned on for the one account this site reads on this version. That is the reading that makes the entry above worth a second look, and it still says nothing about your account.

These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.302. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
