Unclear Whether the server-controlled switch for this plugin is on for any account is not known.
What
Claude Code bundles a new plugin, cc-plugin-easel, that draws charts in the transcript, the running record of the conversation. It does two things:
It gives Claude a chart tool, mcp__easel__chart, that draws line, column, bar, sparkline and share charts.
It charts results from MCP tools automatically when they are metrics over time, such as from Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog. MCP tools are tools from outside servers connected to Claude Code.
You control the automatic charts with two settings:
autoCharts, shown as "Auto charts" in /config, is on by default; turn it off to stop automatic charts.
autoChartSkip lists MCP servers whose results should never be charted.
The plugin is offered only on Linux and macOS, not to accounts under HIPAA or zero data retention (ZDR) terms, and only when a server-controlled switch allows it.
Why
It brings charts drawn directly in the terminal, so trends in monitoring data can be seen without leaving Claude Code.
