Unclear It is not stated which dialogs turn this on.

What

Vim mode is an optional way of editing text in Claude Code using the keys of the vim editor. Some dialogs show a list of choices where one option lets you type an answer. Those options can now turn on vim editing for that text field.

When vim editing is on and vim needs the Escape key, for example to leave insert mode, Escape goes to vim. Before, Escape always cancelled and closed the dialog.

Why

People who use vim mode can now edit typed answers in these dialogs the same way they edit the main prompt.
