What
Claude Code runs checks at startup to detect whether it is running under WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), inside a virtual machine, or inside a Docker container. These checks can now stop early, without looking at the file system, when a certain condition holds. Before, they stopped early only if they had already run.
Why
In the cases where the condition holds, Claude Code no longer reads files on disk to work out what kind of system it is on.
