What
Hooks are actions that run automatically at set points. Claude Code now raises a prompt.change hook when the prompt box changes for a reason other than your own typing, such as a plugin or the landing screen filling it in. It only does this if a hook for prompt.change is registered.
If plugins keep filling the box many times in a row, Claude Code logs a warning and stops raising the hook. It starts again once the box changes some other way.
