What
A permission mode decides how freely Claude may act without asking you. A permission mode can now carry an optional internal marker. It says the mode is simply the default from the settings of the person who created the session, not one chosen when the session was started.
Why
This lets remote sessions and other programs that receive the mode tell a default from a choice someone made on purpose.
