Unclear Which finished agents get their removal time pushed back is not stated.
What
Agents (helpers Claude starts to work on part of a task) appear as tasks with their own panels, and finished tasks are cleared after a timer (evictAfter). The rules for clearing them changed:
- Still viewed: when a finished local agent is in a set Claude Code is still tracking, its timer is extended instead of the task being removed. Before, it was removed as soon as the time passed.
- Chat pins: new state marks a task as
chatEngaged, and can markchatPinForfeitedon every agent task. Forfeiting sets the removal timer for finished tasks that are not being kept. - Cleanup and parents: cleanup now skips some finished tasks, and the walk up from an agent to its parent agents follows
parentAgentIdand stops at a parent whoseevictAfteris 0.
Why
A finished agent's panel may stay on screen while you are looking at it, rather than disappearing mid-read.
