What
Work can be handed from one session to another through a handoff file. Two changes apply when Claude Code takes up handed-off work:
Handoff file: it is now read with a size limit instead of being read in full. If it cannot be read, Claude Code logs that it was not read.
IDs: task, agent and schedule IDs now have a maximum length. Before, they were only checked against a pattern.
Why
These are safety limits, so an oversized or malformed handoff file is turned away instead of being loaded.
