Unclear It is not clear what the 2000 limit counts or what it restricts.
Claude Code now has a limit of 2000 that applies the same way for every model provider. When Claude Code runs interactively and a server-side switch is on, it removes the limit entirely. If the server sends no value for the switch, the limit stays at 2000.
The limit can be lifted for some accounts without a new release. Unless the switch is on, it stays at 2000.
