Unclear It is not clear whether values that now match are treated as web addresses or accepted as ordinary skill folder paths.

What

Claude Code checks whether the location of a skill folder looks like a web address (a scheme such as https: followed by a path). The check now accepts any scheme followed by a colon, any number of slashes, and then a character other than a slash. Before, it required :// after the scheme.

A separate check that rejected values containing <, >, ", spaces or control characters has been removed.

Claude Code also adds a new skill-related event to its usage reporting.

Why

Skill locations with unusual characters or a scheme followed by a single slash are now handled by this check instead of being rejected.
