What
A feedback bundle is the zip file Claude Code saves when you report a problem with /feedback. Before, it held only feedback.json. It can now also hold a copy of your conversation.
The bundle writer can stream a transcript.jsonl entry, the conversation record, into the zip, and handles errors while writing the zip more carefully.
A new wholeTranscript option, off by default, attaches the full transcript.
If the transcript could not be fully included, the "Feedback bundle saved to" message now adds an explanation of the problem.
Before writing, the save path checks whether bundle saving has been turned off. If so, the save fails and is reported as disabled_at_save.
/share sends the whole transcript when the environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_SHARE_BUNDLE is set. An environment variable is a named value you set in your shell before starting Claude Code. A share started from the share switch also sends the whole transcript. The variable is new in this build, and a second place in the code checks it next to a setting fetched from Anthropic.
Why
A report that includes the conversation shows exactly what happened, which helps when filing a bug. It also means the contents of your session leave your machine with the report, so check what a bundle holds before you share it. For /share, sending the whole transcript needs the environment variable or the share switch.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
Confirmed sinceAnthropic's documentation has since written up /share, on Error reference.path: .claude/rules/shared.mderrorssee the edit
