Unclear Which environments trigger the refusal is not known, so it is unclear who can still use /restart.

What

The /restart command now checks the environment Claude Code is running in before it does anything. When that check fails, the command refuses up front and shows this message:

  • "/restart isn't available in this environment."

Previously, /restart had no refusal of this kind.

Why

If /restart stops with that message, the command cannot be used where you are running Claude Code. It is not a fault in your session (one continuous conversation with Claude Code). Starting Claude Code again yourself is the way to restart in that case.
