What
Plugins are add-on packages for Claude Code, and they can include hooks, which are commands Claude Code runs at set points. When Claude Code runs without its interactive screen, it now waits for plugin hooks to finish registering at startup before going on. /reload-plugins now also records when plugin hooks were reloaded.
Why
This may stop plugin hooks from missing events that happen early in a session.

Confirmed since
Anthropic's documentation has since written up /reload-plugins, on Push events into a running session with channels.
When the install asks for an installation scope, choose the user scope option so the plugin is available across all your projects. Check the install summary: if it reports `Run /reload-plugins to apply.`, see [Apply plugin changes without …channels see the edit
