What probably matters to youSection of the release
Unclear Where toolResultCopiesOnDisk is set, and whether a reader can set it, is not clear.
What
When Claude uses a tool, such as reading a file or running a command, Claude Code can save a copy of the result to disk. When the toolResultCopiesOnDisk value is slim, those saved copies keep their structure but have file contents and command output blanked out.
Usage data about listing artifact types also gains an extra field.
Why
When it is on, the transcripts Claude Code keeps on your machine take up less space.
