What
In auto mode, a checker (a separate automatic judge called the classifier) reads a summary of the conversation and decides whether an action can go ahead without asking you. Claude Code now builds that summary in one of three styles: unmarked, original or compact. Previously there was a single on/off choice.
The summary can now include a block saying that some turns were omitted. It also records whether a question that was passed along to you got an answer.
Why
This changes what the auto-mode checker sees when it makes its decisions.
