Unclear Which command or action adds a folder this way is not stated.

What

The sandbox limits what shell commands Claude runs can reach. Claude Code can now add a folder to a session and rebuild the sandbox so shell commands stay out of that folder. It fails with a clear error in two cases:

  • the sandbox could not be rebuilt
  • on Windows, the sandbox had already started, because there it cannot keep shell commands out of a folder added later
Why

If you use sandboxing and add a folder partway through a session, you may now see one of these errors.
