What
Claude Code can sync skills (reusable instructions and files) from claude.ai. Before downloading a skill, it checks whether another process is already downloading it. Previously, if another process held that claim, Claude Code always treated the download as still in progress.
Now:
Once the target folder is old enough, a claim held elsewhere times out and Claude Code stops treating it as in progress.
If a skill file is already held by the target, Claude Code skips the download because it is being handled elsewhere.
Why
A claim left behind by a process that stopped could keep a skill from ever syncing. The timeout stops sync from being stuck forever on that kind of stale claim.
