What
MCP servers are outside tools you connect to Claude Code, and some of them run long tasks. When you resume a session, Claude Code no longer restores a saved MCP task that used the 2025-11-25 tasks protocol. It deletes that task's saved record and writes a log line saying the protocol is no longer supported. The task is not cancelled on the server.
Why
If you resume a session that had such a task running, Claude Code stops following it, and the server may keep running it. Check the server yourself if you need to stop that task or collect its result.
