Unclear Whether the still-here signal is switched on by default is not known.
What
When Claude Code serves tools over a remote connection, it can now send a "still here" signal when the connection goes quiet. It does this only when all of these hold:
- the stream has gone silent
- the machine is not asleep
- a tool call started recently
- part of the work is still running
The connection also announces one extra capability to the other side when a new check passes.
Why
A tool call that runs for a long time without output is less likely to be treated as dead by the other side.
