Unclear Whether a size limit is ever actually set for hosted sessions is not known, and without one this changes nothing.
What
In a hosted session, Claude Code receives a stream of updates from a server, one piece at a time. It can now check each piece against a size limit, which is only passed in for hosted sessions:
- A piece within the limit is handled as before.
- A piece over the limit is replaced by a smaller version if one fits.
- A piece with no smaller version that fits is dropped, and Claude Code is told it was refused.
Before, every piece was handled whatever its size.
Why
Oversized updates in hosted sessions would be dropped or trimmed instead of processed. Without a limit set, nothing changes.
