What
Claude Code keeps an internal list of format versions. It uses that list to tell which features each side of a connection understands. Two new entries now follow the existing ones:
readAllowLarge, at version 7
editOriginalFile, at version 8
You do not need to set or change anything because of this.
Why
The names suggest that new abilities for reading files and editing files can now be agreed between Claude Code and whatever is hosting it. This build does not show what those abilities do.
