What
A subagent is a helper agent that Claude Code starts to work on part of a task. Each one keeps its own transcript, the written record of what it did. Claude Code now keeps a list of subagent transcripts that are over a limit. When something asks to load one of those transcripts on demand, Claude Code refuses instead of loading it.
Why
In practice, Claude Code no longer keeps re-fetching very large subagent transcripts.
