Unclear It is not known how this upload is started or whether the allow_cobalt_plinth policy allows it by default.

What

Claude Code has code that uploads files to a server. That code has changed:

  • It checks the upload address and headers before sending.
  • It retries when the server says it is busy.
  • It refuses credential files and Claude Code's own files.
  • It enforces size limits.
  • It reports a separate error for each file, such as a hash mismatch, a refusal or a busy server. A hash is a fingerprint used to confirm the file arrived intact.

The upload is controlled by an organization policy named allow_cobalt_plinth.

Why

This is a route for sending files from your machine to a server, and your organization's policy decides whether it may be used.
