Plugins (add-on packages that extend Claude Code) gain a ui.notify operation. It lets a plugin post a toast, a short pop-up message, in Claude Code's notification bar.
Claude Code now keeps a saved record of how much display time each plugin toast is allowed. It also logs when a toast loses time because the bar had no time left for it.
Why
Plugins and hooks can now show messages in the notification bar. Claude Code manages which ones get shown and for how long.
