What
Claude Code keeps a connection to a session service while you work. When that connection has been deliberately closed, a request to reconnect is now ignored and a note is written to the log. In other cases, a reconnect request marks the connection as down so it can be restored. Before, a reconnect request always forced a new connection and reset the limit on retry attempts.
Why
This stops a session that was shut down on purpose from coming back to life because something later asked it to reconnect.
