What
The Read tool, which Claude uses to open files, has an optional page range setting meant for PDF files. If Claude sends that setting as an empty or whitespace-only value, Claude Code now treats it as if it had not been given at all. Before, such a value could make the request fail its validity check.
Why
This removes a pointless error when Claude reads ordinary files that are not PDFs.
